Sublimation, Jacquard or Sewn Labels for Custom Webbing?
Select a logo method using the artwork, webbing construction and finished appearance you need. Confirm feasibility, setup charges and minimums for the exact design; none of these methods has a universal MOQ or guaranteed turnaround.

Compare the four routes
| Decision | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Dye sublimation | A route to discuss for multi-color artwork on a compatible substrate, commonly polyester. Specify base color, artwork size, edge coverage, repeat spacing and front/back layout. |
| Jacquard woven design | The design is formed through the weave. Provide the lettering, repeat length, color arrangement, strap width and required reverse-side appearance; approve a woven sample. |
| Screen printing or silicone detail | Provide the color separations, print area, placement and required surface feel. Ask about substrate compatibility and the applicable rubbing or cleaning checks. |
| Sewn label or patch | A separate label or patch is attached to the strap. Specify label material, dimensions, seam position, backing and clearance around folds or hardware. |
What artwork should I send?
Supply the original artwork file where available, with dimensions and a color reference. Identify the top and bottom of the strap, visible face, reading direction, repeat distance and areas hidden by folds. Show front and back separately when the layouts differ.
If you only have a reference photo, explain which features you want to reproduce. Ask the supplier to confirm artwork preparation and feasibility before assuming that a photograph is production-ready.
How should I approve double-sided printing?
Review the front and back proof together, then check a physical sample. State whether opposite-side artwork must align, where the repeat starts, how it appears near the buckle and what variation is acceptable. A digital proof shows the intended layout; it does not demonstrate finished color, texture or registration.
What changes the quote and schedule?
Relevant variables include substrate, color count, repeat length, artwork preparation, setup, sample revisions and order quantity. Ask the supplier to identify sample costs, any applicable credit toward bulk orders, production timing and freight separately. Confirm the schedule after approval rather than relying on a fixed number of hours for every design.
What should I check on the sample?
- Logo spelling, proportions and orientation at the finished scale.
- Color against the agreed reference under the agreed viewing conditions.
- Front/back alignment, repeat position and placement around folds.
- Surface feel, edge appearance and clearance around hardware.
- Rubbing, washing or exposure evidence where your intended use requires it.
Record the approved sample and any exceptions in the sample-approval checklist. Avoid universal promises such as never fading or never peeling.
Reference and scope
Epson’s digital-printing primer provides general background on conventional dye-sublimation substrates. Process suitability and finished results must still be confirmed for your actual strap; this reference does not certify our products.
